Over the years I have carried many different kinds of bags into the Disney theme parks from diaper bags to backpacks.  Here are the ones I have found to be the best and recommend for using in the parks.  Remember, according to the WDW website:  Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park.

Best Diaper Bag

I loved using this diaper bag/backpack when the kids were younger.  It holds so much with 11 pockets, including 2 insulated side pockets for bottles or drinks.  It includes a changing pad and wipes case and I loved how you can wear it as a backpack or clip it right onto the stroller with the stroller loops.   Also, it was not too girly looking, so that my husband didn’t mind carrying it.

Best Full Sized Backpack

For a full sized backpack that is not also intended as a diaper bag, we use the Ful backpack.  It is so sturdy and stylish and is perfect as my personal bag for flights.  It fits under the airplane seat easily and holds so much including a laptop.  It has tons of compartments and pockets and has held up for years.

Best mini Backpack

Of course I have to recommend using a Disney themed Loungefly bakpack.  They are the perfect Disney accessory.  The only downside is that you have to limit how many items you can fit into it.  I do find when I am using this sized backpack, I need to be select about what I am bringing.  Nevertheless they are such nice quality bags and so many adorable designs and patterns.  There is one available for just about every movie, ride, show, and character.  My preference is always dog related so of course I would recommend the Lady & the Tramp or Fox and the Hound themes.

Best Mid Sized Backpack

I have used this backpack in the parks the most often because its size is deceiving.  I can fit everything including a full sized metal water bottle, poncho, and a sweater or sweatshirt rolled up.  It has so many compartments, is made of waterproof material, and has grommeted openings to thread charging cords or headphones through.  The attached “wallet” part is on the backside of the bag where the straps are, so your money and credit cards are always against your back, inaccessable to people standing behind you if you are wearing it.  And you can “lock” the zippers.  It is also RFID protected.

Best packable Backpack

This packable backpack has come in handy so many times.  They make great stocking stuffers too.  On our latest visit to the parks, each of the kids carried these.  The upside is how lightweight they are and how tiny they pack up.  You can even pack it into a bigger carry-on to be used later in the parks.  The downside is the thin material, and lack of structure, so when you are holding a lot of items, they all bunch together and sag down, especially if an item is heavy like a metal water bottle.   This may be uncomfortable for some.

Based on my experience throughout the years, the above items have proven to be the most reliable, useful and practical backpacks.
